Travel

Summer School participants must make their own travel arrangements to arrive in Tartu and find their way to the training venues.

The Summer School takes place in three different venues in Tartu:

University of Tartu, Institute of Social Sciences - Lossi, 36

National Archives - Nooruse 3. The nearest bus stops are Soinaste (bus 1 and 18) and Nooruse (bus 5).

Estonian National Museum - Muuseumi tee 2. Bus 27 runs from the city centre to the museum.

Getting around

Public transport maps of Tartu can help you find your way to the Summer School vanues. A single trip, one-way ticket costs 0.83 EUR, a full 10-day ticket costs 7.03 EUR. For more information, see Inner City Bus Transportation.

Accommodation

Summer school students can get a discount on accommodation at Hektor Design Hostels. For example, a 2-bed room costs €50 / night for a participant in the summer school, including breakfast, bed linen, towels, free wifi and use of kitchenette (where available). Rates range from €40 per night (without breakfast) to €50 per night (including breakfast). A discount code will be sent to you when you register for the Summer School. You may prefer to reserve other accommodation. A wide range of hostels and hotels are available in Tartu - when booking a room, don't forget the various sports, cultural and science events taking place in mid-August.
